“The Dharani School for Performing Arts was invited to perform at the Mukkottil Bhagavathi Temple on 10th March, 2018. The inspiring performance was led by the founder Mrs. Shyamala Surendran. The Dharani Ensemble enthralled the audience with various dance performances, most notable was the ‘Stree Sakthi’ performance. The performance began with a Pushpanjali which was set to raagam Amritavarshini in Aditalam followed by Natyanjali in Raagamalika set to Taalamalika, choreographed by the celebrated Padmabhushans Sri. V.P. Dhananjayan and Smt. Shanta Dhananjayan.

Three male dancers brought out the Ananda Thandava of Lord Nataraja, followed by Ashtapadi in Mohiniyattom. Bharathanatyam performance was Mamavasatha describing Devi. First segment concluded with Thillana, in raagam Paras. Second segment was a thematic presentation, in three styles of dance Bharathanatyam, Mohiniyattom and Kathakali.

As the dancers paid obeisance to the Goddess through their performance, the audience were mesmerized by the emotive abhinaya and firm footwork . We were honored to part of the celebrations at Mukkottil Bhagavathi Temple.”
